Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/01/2027. Candidates born between 01/01/2002 and 01/01/2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. Only sportspersons who have achieved the eligibility norms below in a recognized championship between 01/04/2024 and the date of notification, and who remain active, are eligible to apply.

Selected candidates will draw pay as per the applicable Level of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, plus admissible allowances. Exact pay-matrix figures in rupees are Not Mentioned in the Official Notification. During training, only stipend will be paid. Selected candidates must submit a Service Bond of 5 years at the time of appointment.

Selection Process
  • Trial: All eligible candidates are called for a sports Trial assessing game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observation (maximum 40 marks). Candidates must score at least 25 marks to be declared FIT; those declared NOT FIT are not assessed further.
  • Assessment of FIT candidates: Sports Achievements (50 marks) + Trial performance (40 marks) + Educational Qualification (10 marks) = 100 marks total.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: Level 5/4 — 70 marks; Level 3/2 — 65 marks; Level 1 — 60 marks.
  • Final merit is prepared purely on marks obtained; in case of a tie, preference is given to the younger candidate.
  • Document Verification of eligible/provisionally eligible candidates.
  • Medical Examination — candidates must be found medically fit for the post before appointment.

  • Certificate proving recognized sports achievement held on or after 01/04/2024 up to the date of notification.

Important Instructions
  • The number of vacancies is provisional and may change based on the actual requirement of the Railway Administration, which also reserves the right to cancel notified vacancies.
