Sahitya Akademi Clerk Recruitment – Selection Process

The selection process differs by post, as prescribed in the official notification:

  • Deputy Secretary (General-Admn.) and Assistant Editor: Selection is based purely on performance in a personal interview; there is no written test for these two posts.
  • Senior Library & Information Assistant, Junior Translation Officer, Technical Assistant, Programme Assistant, Publication Assistant, Proof Reader Cum General Assistant: A written test of 100 marks – Part I: Objective (50 marks: General Studies/GK, Hindi, English, Computer, Quantitative Aptitude); Part II: Descriptive (50 marks, subject-specific to the post). Duration: 2 hours.
  • Stenographer Gr. II: Written test (100 marks, same Part I/Part II pattern) followed by a qualifying skill test in stenography at 80 w.p.m.
  • Messenger Cum Rider and Van Driver: Written test (Part I: 60 marks objective; Part II: 40 marks descriptive) followed by a qualifying driving skill test.
  • Junior Clerk: Written test (60 marks objective + 40 marks descriptive); candidates are then shortlisted for a qualifying typing test (35 w.p.m. English / 30 w.p.m. Hindi) based on written test marks.
