UIIC AO Vacancy Details 2026

UIIC has announced 225 provisional vacancies for Administrative Officer (Scale I), split between the Generalist and Hindi Officer disciplines. The category-wise break-up, including the 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), is given below. These figures are provisional and subject to change as per the notification.

A candidate may apply for either the Generalist or the Hindi Officer discipline, but not for both. Submitting multiple applications or appearing more than once will lead to cancellation of candidature. Candidates who are already working as Administrative Officers (Scale-I) in UIIC are not eligible to apply.

UIIC AO Eligibility Criteria

An applicant must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire (DR Congo), Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of settling permanently in India. Candidates falling in the last four categories must hold an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

The prescribed qualification must have been obtained on or before 30th June 2026 from a university or institute recognized by the UGC/AICTE, through the 10+2+3 pattern or an equivalent system. Working knowledge of computers is compulsory for all applicants.

Where a university has awarded only a CGPA/OGPA/SGPA instead of a percentage, the candidate must submit a conversion certificate obtained from the university. A converted score such as 59.99% is treated as below 60% and does not meet the eligibility bar.

Age Limit and Age Relaxation

As on 30th June 2026, the minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 30 years — that is, candidates must be born between 30th June 1996 and 30th June 2005 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is available to specified categories, subject to an overall cap of 45 years.

UIIC AO Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed on the basic pay scale of ₹82,485–4050(14)–139185–4390(4)–156745, along with other admissible allowances. The gross pay works out to approximately ₹1,10,000 per month at Metropolitan centres. Besides regular emoluments, UIIC provides Gratuity, Leave Travel Subsidy, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance and the National Pension System, with leased accommodation as per Company rules.

Selected candidates must serve a probation period of one year, extendable at the Company’s discretion, and are required to clear the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India during this period. Candidates must also execute a guarantee bond committing to serve UIIC for a minimum of five years, including the probation period; resigning before that attracts liquidated damages along with a ₹35,000 charge towards onboarding and integration cost.

UIIC AO Selection Process 2026

Selection to the post of Administrative Officer is carried out through three stages — Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Interview.

• Tier I – Preliminary Examination (qualifying in nature, 100 marks, 60 minutes): English Language (30 questions/30 marks), Reasoning (35/35) and Quantitative Aptitude (35/35).
• Tier II – Main Examination for Generalists: an Objective Test of 250 marks covering English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness with special reference to the financial sector, and Computer Knowledge (200 questions, 150 minutes), followed by a Descriptive Test of 30 marks on Letter Writing and Essay (30 minutes).
• Tier II – Main Examination for Hindi Officers: an Objective Test of 200 marks covering English Language, Reasoning, Professional Knowledge of Hindi/English, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge (150 questions, 120 minutes), followed by a Descriptive Test of 50 marks involving essay writing, letter writing and translation in English/Hindi (60 minutes).
• Interview: candidates who clear the Main Examination are called for an interview, in a number up to three times the vacancies notified for the respective category and discipline.

For Generalists, the final merit list is prepared by combining the Main Examination Objective Test marks and Interview marks in a 75:25 ratio; marks scored in the Preliminary Examination and the Descriptive Test are not counted towards merit. For Hindi Officers, the Main Examination (Objective plus Descriptive) and Interview marks are combined in the same 75:25 ratio, with Preliminary Examination marks excluded from merit. In both the Preliminary and Main objective tests, one-fourth of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for every wrong answer.

2. Select “Click here for New Registration” and enter your name, contact number and email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.

4. Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration in the format and size specified in the notification.
5. Preview the completed form and verify every entry carefully, since no correction is allowed once registration is finalised.
