NCRTC Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

The application fee for NCRTC Recruitment 2026 is category-based, and candidates need to pay it online only:

• UR, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS and Ex-Servicemen candidates: ₹500, non-refundable, in addition to applicable transaction charges and GST.

NCRTC Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for all posts is assessed as on the cut-off date, 10 September 2026. Only full-time regular courses are considered valid, and only Indian nationals above 18 years of age can apply.

Educational Qualification: This varies by post and is detailed post-wise below.

Age Limit: The maximum age for every post under both notices is 28 years as on the cut-off date.

Age Relaxation:

Relaxation is cumulative for candidates covered under more than one category, but the upper age limit after all relaxations cannot exceed 50 years for any candidate, including ex-servicemen. Reserved-category candidates applying against unreserved (UR) posts do not get the benefit of age relaxation or relaxed qualifying marks at any stage.

Notice No. 32/2026 (Direct Recruitment)

All qualifications must be obtained from a UGC-recognized university/deemed university or an AICTE-approved course run by an autonomous institution. Where a CGPA, OGPA or grade has been awarded instead of a percentage, candidates must convert it to the equivalent percentage as per their university/institute norms and mention it in the application.

NCRTC Recruitment 2026 Salary / Pay Scale

In addition to Basic Pay, selected candidates will draw Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Perks & Allowances under the Cafeteria Approach, along with other benefits as per NCRTC’s extant rules.

NCRTC Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection under both vacancy notices follows the same two-stage process:

• Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 questions carrying 100 marks; each correct answer gets 1 mark and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The test runs for 90 minutes and is available in Hindi or English, as per the candidate’s choice.
• Qualifying marks: 60% for UR/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates, and 50% for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates. Final selection beyond the qualifying marks is on a merit basis.
• Medical Fitness Test: Conducted as per Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) standards. The medical standard applicable (A-3, B-1 or C-1) depends on the specific post code.

Candidates give a preference of five cities for their CBT centre at the time of applying, and this choice cannot be changed later. If a candidate applies for multiple posts and the CBT schedules clash, they can appear for only one of those tests. The first medical examination is conducted at NCRTC’s expense, while any second or re-examination is at the candidate’s own cost. Lasik surgery or any form of radial keratotomy for vision correction is not permitted for any post.
